2025/2026 Young Artists Concerto Competition Winner

2025/2026 Winner: Ethan Goh, cello who will perform with the DSO on February 3, 2026.

Ethan Goh, 16, currently studies under Dr. Martin Gueorguiev. He has distinguished himself as both an orchestral musician and soloist: he has held principal positions at the Atlanta Symphony and Emory Youth Symphony Orchestras, and made his debut with the Georgia Philharmonic in 2025, performing Tchaikovsky’s Pezzo Capriccioso.

In addition, he has won awards in numerous state and regional competitions, including the Samuel Fordis Young Artists Competition (2025), the Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition (2025), the GMTA Instrumental Concerto and Strings Competitions (2024), and the Charleston International Competition (2023). He has been a part of the GMEA All-State Orchestra for three years, is a two-time MTNA/GA honorable mention recipient, and was a finalist for the 2025 Governor’s Honors Program in music. 

Beyond performing, he enjoys teaching young musicians and photography.

Ethan will make his solo debut with the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra performing Movement 1 from Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor.
